What is a Longer Semi Trailer (LST) ?

A LST is an extended trailer that is 15.65 metres in length. This enables freight operators to transport an additional 4 standard UK pallets per journey (when at full capacity) which in turn should lead to fewer HGVs on roads reducing both congestion and overall emissions.

All LST’s have to have a rear steering system on the rear most axle to enable it to have the same turning circle as a standard UK trailer.
